Easy, No Prep Center for your classroom!
Do your students love stickers? Mine, too. I have piles of stickers in my classroom. I buy them for every season, holiday, event, etc. The parents of my students buy some for us as well!
Then it occurred to me that I could use the stickers as an easy, engaging, no prep center activity! Great for your emergent and reluctant writers. Students add a sticker to their paper (with 4 different formats to choose from!), and then use their letter, sound, and word knowledge to write a label. Great independent work center, literacy station, or even a small guided group activity. This activity is great for students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and even First or Second grade!
When I say No Prep, I mean it! Just print and go! I put a bunch of sticker sheets in to a bin, add some markers (who doesn’t like writing with a marker in Pre-K or Kindergarten?!), and we are all set. My Pre-K students have been so engaged in their labeling this week – actually asking how to sound out words, using their ABC chart as a reference. It is great to see!
